Lifeline is a government supported program that offers a wireless phone to low income families. The program is only available in over 30 states so far;

Safelink Wireless Lifeline service is powered by Tracfone that offers free perks with your government phone. No contract,No cost or fees and you get 250 minutes a month for free. Text messaging is available but it will cost you about 1 minute from your free minutes. The minutes replenish every month. If you run out during that month you can purchase additional airtime. I believe you can buy TracFone cards at a local retailer like Walmart, CVS, Target and some local Gas Stations.

How do I qualify? If you currently receiving any assistance or participating in programs from the State of Ohio you may qualify for the phone.
